Hello Visionary Leaders, 

This month, we’re turning inward and focusing on the inside game of leadership: executive presence, emotional intelligence, and self-leadership. At Metaspire, we believe business transformation begins with leadership transformation. Why? Because the best leaders go first. 

In our most recent Every Day Is Friday Mastermind, we explored a powerful connection: how self-leadership, emotional intelligence, and executive presence all begin within.  

Our session –  Elevate Your Presence: Master Emotional Intelligence at Work – was co-created by Leadership Transformation Expert & Executive Coach Christine Stiller, myself, and the Every Day Is Friday Inner Circle. Together, we explored the truth that staying calm under pressure isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present. It’s about noticing what’s happening inside before reacting outside. 

This month, we’re going deeper into our Inside Crew (we define “Crew” as your success IS my success)—what Richard Schwartz, founder of Internal Family Systems (IFS), calls the “parts” within us. These different inner voices show up when we’re under pressure, navigating conflict, or facing tough decisions. The concept?  There are no bad parts.  

So, the question is: Who’s leading your Inside Crew? 

In my book Every Day is Friday: The ACTT Blueprint for Leaders (pages 51–55), I describe the Inside Crew as the collection of voices within us—some encouraging, some cautious, some critical. These voices reflect more than just emotions. They hold our experiences, beliefs, values, and intuition. When we learn to listen compassionately to ourselves, we stop reacting and start leading with more intention. 

This is the foundation of executive presence—the embodiment of credibility, clarity, confidence, and charisma that inspires trust and respect.   

It’s not about trying harder. It’s about showing up with aligned energy, clear communication, and emotional maturity. 

Most people think influence is about convincing others. It’s not. Influence is how people feel in your presence, interpret your leadership, and respond to your energy. 

You’ve probably been in a room where one person’s words carried weight without having to dominate the conversation. Their vision sparked action, and their presence created alignment. That’s what happens when influence is built on trust, clarity, and calm—not control. 

On the other hand, when influence is missing, leaders face resistance. Messages get repeated, buy-in is slow, and the team’s energy feels heavy.   

Influence doesn’t come from being the loudest voice, but from being the one others want to follow.  

Authentic influence means communicating with clarity and confidence, asking powerful questions instead of defending a point, inspiring action without micromanaging, and creating a space where people are eager to contribute. 

When we guide clients through the Inside Crew Mind Map, we assign names to those internal voices—like Curious Chris, Rational Robert, Creative Connie, or Teenager Tina. This playful approach helps us recognize who’s present… and who’s best suited to lead based on the situation. 

Ultimately, we aim to reconnect with the Leader Within—Self Leadership—the grounded part of you that can listen to everyone, hold the vision, and make aligned decisions.
